Introduction to UK Snowsport

Snowsport England administers a licencing scheme for those who wish to teach on artificial slopes, develop performers, lead groups or become an official. The courses have been developed to train professional, informed and motivated coaches, leaders and officials.

Our Licensing Scheme is in partnership with Snowsport Scotland and Snowsport Wales and is called UK Snowsports. So you register with your home governing body and get a UK Snowsports License. It helps coaches develop their potential, and assures performers and clubs that they have a high-quality coach or instructor.

To become a licensed coach you will need to:

• Join Snowsport England’s Coach Award Scheme

Recognition of External Qualifications

As a member of the international snowsports community UK Snowsports welcomes coaches, leaders and instructors holding qualifications issued by non UK Snowsports Member Awarding Bodies. If you hold a BASI, CSIA, CASI, or PISA qualification you can apply to UK Snowsports for recognition of equivalency of your award.
