Britain's top skier Chemmy Alcott will be out of action until the new year after breaking her ankle during training in Canada.

The 26-year-old was preparing for her second World Cup race of the campaign when the accident happened in Canada.
She had finished 10th in the opening race of the season in Soelden, Austria - her best giant slalom result.
"It's a really tough time for it to come but injuries are there to make you stronger," said Alcott.
"This year is a pre-Olympic year so my main goal is the World Championships in February and that's what I'm going to fight to come back for and be strong for.
"I'm going to keep that Soelden race in mind, keep replaying how well I did there and why I did well, do my rehab and just work really hard at it"
Alcott is one of Britain's best medal hopes at the next Winter Olympics, which are being held in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2010.
She genuinely believes she can become Britain's first alpine skiing gold medallist.
At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Alcott finished 11th in the downhill, only half a second off a medal.
She added: "The injury is is a bit of a step back for me but as long as I can keep my world ranking and consistently get top 10s next season, then I will be in a position to win in Whistler at the next Olympics."
